Regional preferences

Each row on the table will represent one of the regional preferences to which you can apply; the options below are provisonal at this stage and will be confirmed nearer to the opening of applications. If you apply to the England and Wales vacancy, you will only be able to choose one option on your application form, and this will be the only region for which you can be in contention prior to clearing.

Priority will be given to those who undertook their core training in that region and those that have ‘special circumstances’; see the Special circumstances section on the Applying to region page for more information about this.

Vacancies

Post numbers will not be available at the time of application. Where possible, regions will be seeking to match the number of vacancies to the applications received.

Once applications close, regions will start compiling their post numbers, seeking to provide as many posts as possible. These will be published to the table below once they can be confirmed.

Once published, post numbers will be those that can be confirmed at that stage and regions will be working with their partners to identify as many opportunities for trainees as possible. Consequently, if a region cannot initially confirm enough posts for all who apply, they may increase during the round; numbers will be updated as and when changes are confirmed.
