From 6 October 2019, all medical practitioners have been added to the Shortage Occupation List in the UK. This means that all medical practitioners are exempt from the Resident Labour Market Test (RLMT) and can apply for any specialty in any recruitment round, subject to eligibility.
On your application: select the relevant options under 'Right to work in the UK' section
At interview: show your passport and, Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) or an Immigration Status Document containing evidence of your current visa status with issue and expiry dates. Please be aware that your Immigration Status Documents should include details of your sponsor on them.
The staff at the PSRO are NOT able to give advice relating to queries on immigration. We cannot give advice on whether your specific immigration status makes you eligible, how you can change your status, how to apply for different types of visa, etc.
For queries relating to immigration, please visit the UK Home Office website. Further guidance is also available via the Specialty Recruitment Applicant Guidance in the document library and from the Health Education England Tier 2 page.
